Terra Firma Digital Arts has a proud 25+ year history of working with organizations large and small to provide beautiful and strategic graphic design for projects of all sizes.

Roger Handling founded Terra Firma in 1994 after moving to B.C.’s Sunshine Coast from Toronto. Through Terra Firma Roger sought to bring the quality and expertise of a large metropolitan studio to this small-but-growing west coast community. In the decades since, Terra Firma has built longstanding and valued relationships with a diverse array of clients on the Coast, across Canada, and internationally who represent many industries, including publishing, tourism, healthcare, non-profit organizations, arts & culture, and many more.

Today, Roger works in partnership with his daughter Bronwyn to deliver polished and contemporary graphic design solutions backed by experience.

 

Meet the Team

  • Roger Handling

    CREATIVE DIRECTOR

    Roger established Terra Firma Digital Arts in 1994 after building a decade of experience in Toronto’s corporate communications industry. In the last 30 years Roger’s projects have won a slew of awards and earned him a dedicated stable of clients who appreciate his unwavering dedication and timeless yet contemporary solutions. When Roger is not pushing pixels you can find him experimenting with oil paints and watercolours in his studio or in nature. Roger had fine arts training at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario College of Arts and Design University (OCADU), and the Banff School of Fine Arts.

  • Bronwyn Handling

    ART DIRECTOR

    Bronwyn has worked in many creative industries spanning film and television production, post-production, design & animation, and more. Her experience as both a project producer and as an artist ensures delivery of beautiful work that is on time, on budget, and with great attention to detail and clients’ needs. Bronwyn holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Victoria and has completed design training at Emily Carr University of Art & Design, the British Columbia Institute of Technology, and FischerAppelt Content Marketing & PR firm in Germany.

  • Amerval du Planty

    BUSINESS MANAGER

    Amerval has served as Business manager for Terra Firma since its inception, bringing 10 years of experience working in marketing and administration in the Fashion Retail industry. Ever since, she has been managing daily administration for the company. Amerval studied Art History at Queens University and Business Administration at The University of Western Ontario.

  • Bruce

    CREATIVE INSPIRATION

    Bruce is Terra Firma’s newest team member. He likes to contribute to Zoom meetings and phone calls by snorting and/or snoring loudly, and he ensures any visitors to the office receive an enthusiastic greeting. Bruce would prefer that the work day included more games of tug-of-war with a fluffy toy, but he’s managing for now.
